Groups is a simple, yet incredibly powerful tool that let’s you quickly and easily organise your contacts on your Nokia Windows Phone in the same way you do in your day-to-day life. For example, you could set up a group for your friends, one for your work colleagues and another for your close family.
Not only does Groups make it incredibly easy to browse your contacts on your Nokia Windows Phone, it also makes it easier to keep in touch with them all. Once you’ve placed people in a group, you can contact them all at once via text, email or even Instant Messenger, with just the touch of a button.
And when you pin a group to your main Windows Phone Start screen, you can tap the new tile to see a Group Pane, displaying all current details for every contact within that group, all their social networking updates and even all photos in which each of the members of the group have been tagged.
Creating a group is easy. You just tap the People tile on the Windows Phone Start screen, then tap the Add button and choose New Group. You can then name the group and instantly start adding contacts to it. The process takes seconds and the great Windows Phone interface makes it a fast and effortless process.
To pin a group to the Windows Phone Start screen, you just need to tap the People tile, open the group you want to add and then tap the Pin button at the bottom of the screen. The new group tile is instantly added to the Windows Phone Start screen, where you can then hold and drag it to wherever you like.
Once the group has been pinned to the Windows Phone Start screen, it will then display as a live tile. Constantly updated, this tile will then notify you of when any person in the group sends you a text of IM message, posts an update to their social network sites or when you miss a call from them.
