With our recent Facebook post discussing the five top reasons to buy the N8 attracting loads of visitors and comments, we decided to take a look at what you think are the best features of this fantastic Symbian-powered smartphone.

Nokia N8 review

With its stunning 12-Megapixel camera, the Nokia N8 is still by far the world’s best camera-phone. Packed with cutting-edge features that most phones fail to match a year later, the N8 is a true market-leader and we put the question to you, “What do you love most about the N8”? Here are your favourite features.

Camera
This one was a no brainer. With the Nokia N8 sporting the best camera of any phone in the world, you all love the high-quality photos you can take. Add the fantastic Carl Zeiss and the N8’s camera is easily its most loved feature.

Xenon flash
With its great Xenon flash, the Nokia N8 is the perfect smartphone for taking photos at night when you’re out with your friends. Bringing light to even the darkest photos, this was another of your favourite features of the great N8.

Design
It was inevitable that the gorgeous anodised aluminium chassis of the Nokia N8 would get a mention. The stunning design still turns heads a year after it was first released and the beautiful N8 is a great phone to be seen with.

Video formats
With many smartphone users forced to convert their videos to suitable formats before watching them, the Nokia N8’s comprehensive video support lets you enjoy movies straight out of the box, making it the next of your top features.

Great operating system
Even as the first Nokia Windows Phones approach, you are all still big fans of the fantastic Symbian operating system. With its easy usability and multiple home screens, you voted this among the top things you love about the N8.

USB On-The-Go
While sharing files can be a pain on most smartphones, the Nokia N8’s USB technology makes it easy to share music, photos and videos with your friends. Still a rarity on a smartphone, we’re not surprised you voted this one of your favourites.

HDMI
And the same can be said for the Nokia N8’s HDMI port. Letting you connect your smartphone to your HDTV and enjoy your photos and videos on the big screen, Nokia was even kind enough to throw in an HDMI cable for free.

Maps and navigation
Packing full GPS functionality and free maps for life, the Nokia N8 puts a full satellite-navigation system in the palm of your hand. Helping you always get to where you’re going, this was another of your top reasons to buy the N8.

The price
Despite its feature-packed specification, the Nokia N8 is available a great price. With prices now lower than ever, it’s never been so easy to buy this great smartphone, making it yet another reason you love the N8 so much.

After-sales service
And once you’ve got the phone in your hand, Nokia’s outstanding after-sales service has always helped you to enjoy the very best that the Nokia N8 has to offer, making it your tenth top reason to buy the market-leading N8.

Ive had N8 for a year.. Its was crippled by the long waited for updates.. Anna is finally being rolled out, but some may never get Anna in Australia, due to Telco issues.. The Phone is brilliant, yes, apart from the Camera , it is fast being outdated..Belle will be rolled out in next few months , so they say, but many have given up on Nokia in frustration and moved on.. SGS has been the favoured alternative along with ip4.. But now there are other awesome contenders, like Nexus and RAZR etc..
If you want a phone with a superb camera, then this is it..but if you want a phone with everything else, then there is a really good selection available besides Nokia.

One very useful feature on the N8 has to be without doubt ther FM transmitter, which enables you to carry around your entire CD/music collection and play it on almost any radio. I don’t have an N8 but the end of contract is nigh and I’m currently deciding between the N8 and the N9.

ive had the N8 over a year its been plagued by inept software upgrades, anna then maps and now waiting for symbian belle, i can give you three big reasons why people shouldnt buy this phone two of which are my son and partner both of which have binned their N8,s and got galaxy s2,s, and i will shortly follow them, the N8 could have been a great phone if only the nokia software team had given it the software it desreved, instead of all the bug ridden rubbish they pushed onto people, ive talked to loads of N8 users on forums and theres not many that would recomend the phone or nokia care service, i myself have had dealings with nokia care very average at best, its a great shame cause ive always had nokia,s phones the last one being the N958GB, as far as im concerned nokia have gone backwards with the N8, great camera everything else is below par
