Five reasons the Nokia N8 camera is in a class of its own
With camera-phones in all our pockets these days, everyone is snapping away and uploading their photos to share them with friends and family. With so many brands and so many models available, though, we were keen to see just how popular Nokia smartphones were with budding photographers and how they compared to the many rival smartphones being used worldwide.
Popular photo-hosting site Flickr sees thousands of new photos uploaded daily and keeps detailed statistics on exactly which cameras have been used to take the photos it hosts. A quick search to see how many of these photos were taken with a Nokia phone revealed that a staggering 42,838,799 photos were snapped on a Nokia smartphone and are currently hosted on Flickr.
Comparing this to some of Nokia’s biggest rivals, we found that Nokia is by far one of the most popular brands for budding photographers. For example, photos taken on Sony Ericsson phones only account for 34,211,636 of the images on Flickr, while just 9,669,441 were taken on Blackberry phones and a paltry 3,867,358 were snapped using a Samsung camera-phone.
