The Nokia 700 is a great little mid-range smartphone with 3.2-inch touchscreen and 1GHz processor chugging away underneath the Symbian Belle operating system, making it ideal for a little light gaming. Here we give our Nokia 700 and Angry Birds Magic with NFC review.
Angry Birds Magic comes as a pre-install on the Nokia 700. It's not the full game, sadly, but it's enough to get the ball rolling. What makes the Nokia 700 ideal for gaming isn't the screen size, as at 3.2-inches in size there are larger gaming devices, Nokia N8 and Nokia X7 step forward please, but for a little casual gaming it works well.
Symbian Belle, NFC and Angry Birds
What makes the Nokia 700 stand out screen wise is the use of Gorilla Glass and ClearBlack technology, which make the AMOLED screen really ping into life, so while we get the standard 360 x 640-pixel resolution we're used to seeing on Nokia smartphones, the colours really shine. Angry Birds Magic gameplay on the Nokia 700 proved quick and nimble.
In fact, if you're accustomed to playing it on older Nokia smartphones you may well find your first few goes a little too fast! Once you get the hang of the pace the game delivers nothing new in terms of features of characters.
That said, lurking away in the background is another of the Nokia 700 tricks up its sleeve, as you can only access the first five levels of Angry Birds Magic before you need to kick the NFC (Near Field Communication) built into the device into play. Connect with another NFC device and you'll unlock the other levels and be able to pitch your skills against others.
Nokia 700 and Angry Birds Magic is a great way to tap into the latest technology and have some fun with your new phone.
