Following the Nokia Asha 200’s announcement at Nokia World 2001 in London, we’ve been taking a look at this bright and colourful dual-SIM phone, to bring you all the official specifications and photos.
The Nokia Asha 200 is the latest dual-SIM phone from Nokia. The Series 40-powered handset features a 2.4-inch screen, full QWERTY keyboard and will be available in a range of bright colours, including pink, blue, green and orange.
The Asha 200 measures 115.4 x 61.1 x 14mm and weighs just 105g, making it a compact and highly portable handset. Its 2.4-inch TFT screen features a 320 x 240 pixel QVGA resolution and 16-bit colour depth, letting you enjoy photos, videos, emails and websites on the bright and vibrant display.
The Nokia Asha 200 offers 10MB of storage as standard, but supports Micro SD cards, letting you add up to 32GB of flash card storage for holding all your music, videos and photos. You can also wirelessly share files with compatible devices via the built-in Bluetooth 2.1 and there is a Micro USB port for connecting to your laptop, PC or tablet via a USB 2.0 cable.
Swapping SIM cards is quick and easy thanks to the Nokia Asha 200’s Easy Swap function. You can remove and add a new SIM card at any time, via the handy slot on the handset’s right-hand side and SIM cards can be removed and replaced on the fly without having to switch the Nokia Asha 200’s power off at any time.
The Nokia Asha 200 also features a 2-Megapixel, rear-facing camera which offers a photo resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and 4 x digital zoom. You can record video at a resolution of 176 x 144 pixels in H.263 and MPEG-4 formats, and video can be played back in 3GPP (H.263), H.264/AVC, MPEG-4 and WMV formats, at a frame-rate of 15fps.
When listening to music on the Nokia Asha 200, you get a stereo FM RDS Radio and support for AAC, AAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, HE-AAC v2, MIDI Tones (poly 64), Mobile XMF, MP3, MP4, NRT, True tones, WAV and WMA audio formats. There is even an FM radio-recording feature, for recording and enjoying your favourite radio shows on the Asha 200.
In terms of battery life, Nokia claims the Asha 200 offer a maximum of 52-hours when listening to music and 7 hours of talk time, with up to 37 days of standby time when using a single SIM card and 23 days if using a dual SIM setup.
The Nokia Asha 200 is set for release in the run up to Christmas with an estimated retail price of around 60 Euros, before taxes.
