The Nokia 700 is billed as the slimmest smartphone in its class right now. Weighing in at just 96g and measuring just 9.7mm thin, slim and slight it certainly is but you won't find it scrimping on the build quality as this is one tough little smartphone. Find out how touch with our Nokia 700 build quality review.
The Nokia 700 boasts a 3.2-inch AMOLED display that comes with a 24-bit colour depth and uses Nokia ClearBlack technology. The screen has a 360 x 640-pixel resolution and images look pin-sharp and bright.

It's this screen that dominates the look of the Nokia 700 but that's only half the story, as the actual design and build of this mid-range smartphone is what really impresses. The Nokia 700 has a glass Gorilla front, so is scratch resistant while still being highly responsive, while the body is a mixture of metal on the outside and plastic on the in, so it's lightweight but tough in all the right places.
A lot of super-slim phones tend to be rather flimsy and plastic feeling. Thankfully, you won't find that to be the case with the Nokia 700. You'll find the glass front runs right to the edge of the front facier, so you won't find a plastic bezel getting in the way.
You'll find three buttons below the screen, all built into a single strip bar, which works well. These are used for making and ending calls, as well as kicking the screen into life, if you don't want to use the Screenlock button on the side. The button has a tactile finish and as it sits quite flush with the screen isn't easy to accidently push.
Around the sides of the Nokia 700 you'll find the standard array of ports and buttons. On the top are the 2mm power socket, 3.5mm audio jacket and USB connector. On the right-hand side are buttons for the camera, Volume and Screenlock, which all lie pretty flush with the body of the smartphone, so keeping the profile as slim as possible. The buttons are rather small and while they work well, they can be a little tricky to use, especially if you're in a rush.
We've been pretty impressed with the overall feel and build quality of the Nokia 700. Fortunately, we've not dropped it yet but judging from the quality materials used and great all-round design we have no fears that it will stand up to everyday life on the move.
