With the Nokia Lumia 800’s colourful, ergonomic design perfectly matching the Windows Phone software interface, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has billed it as ‘the first REAL Windows Phone’. But what is the story behind the Lumia 800’s design?
Nokia Lumia 'is the first REAL Windows Phone'
The Nokia Lumia 800 comes in a choice of three eye-catching colours - cyan, magenta or black - and with its curved edges, unibody design, stunning 3.7-inch screen and precision finish, it effortlessly marks the most accomplished marriage of hardware and software seen on a Windows Phone to date.
Nokia has stated, "Everything about the Nokia Lumia 800 begins and ends with the user. What we left out was just as important as what we included." And when you see the near perfect mix of style, power, features and usability that it provides, there's no question that Nokia has easily succeeded.
When we first saw the Lumia 800, we were struck by how much it looked like the gorgeous Nokia N9 and it’s only now that we know for sure, as Nokia Senior Design Manager Anton Fahlgren has spoken out about just how much the Nokia N9 has inspired the look and feel of the new Nokia Lumia 800.
Offering a flawless symmetry with the colourful, tile-based Windows Phone 7.5 interface, the Nokia Lumia 800’s equally tactile and colourful hardware is the perfect match to Windows Phone. Stephen Elop was right when he said this is the first real Windows Phone and we love the Lumia 800 already.
