Nokia Ovi Suite is no more, replaced by the aptly Nokia Suite 3.2.100 update. However, along with the name change comes more than just a lick of paint as Nokia has refined and tweaked some of the underlying code. Check out our Nokia Suite 3.2.100 review to find out why it’s worth updating.
The Nokia Suite 3.2.100 update hit last month but it’s taken until now for it to make its way into the wild and to our laptop. Nokia Suite takes over Ovi Suite used to sit as the point where your smartphone and computer meet, so you can backup your device, carry out updates, upload maps, music, share photos and videos and generally be the conduit between the two.
Nokia Ovi becomes Nokia Store v1.16 with new software
Gone is the green of Ovi and in comes the Nokia Blue of Nokia Suite. Along with the colour change comes a neat new interface that seems a lot smoother, and certainly less cluttered, than the Ovi Suite version. For the most part we still have the same categories, such as Contacts, Music and Maps but the icons now have a look that is more in keeping with the Symbian Belle updates on the Symbian^3 smartphones.
Away from the visuals the big change is the new Support View, which used to stand as a separate page but is now an integral part of Nokia Suite 3.2.100. It allows you to see the status of your smartphone, shows you how much memory you have left and how it’s being allocated. The interface is a lot more intuitive to use than the old version and generally helps keeping on top your smartphone a lot easier.
There is also an improved sync log, so you can better keep track of what’s been going on. Nokia assures us that updates will also be a great deal smoother and faster using the Nokia Suite 3.2.100 update. However, until Symbian Belle hits on our Nokia N8, we’ll have to take their word for it!
We found the update was quick and easy and you don’t even need to reboot your laptop for it to work. You’ll find that the Nokia Suite 3.2.100 update is ready to install when you load Ovi Suite and see the update number in the green tick on the crossbar. We think it’s worth having this update just so you’re up-to-date and using all the latest Nokia goodies.
if you're not using the latest Nokia Suite software then it pays to pay Beta Labs a visit, sign up and bag yourself a free copy. DOWNLOAD: Nokia Suite 3.2
