Now that the Nokia Lumia 800 has been officially announced for release on the 16th November, we’ve been trying out the best games and apps you can currently enjoy on your new Nokia Windows Phone. The first game we’ve tried is the ever-popular and incredibly cute Kinectimals.

Kinectimals for the Nokia Lumia 800 is perfect for children and animal lovers alike. It takes you to the fictional island of Lemuria, where you can train and play with a variety of cute and cuddly animal cubs, using the Lumia 800’s responsive touchscreen to stroke, teach, clean and command your pet.

At its most basic level, Kinectimals for the Nokia Lumia 800 is just a cute app that lets children enjoy playing with a pet, without you having to clean up after it. They can stroke their cub by rubbing their finger on the screen and the onscreen animal responds by purring and pushing its head towards them.

When you stroke your Kinectimal, it will sometimes lie down on the ground for you to tickle its tummy and the cub will also roll around on the floor and get muddy. When it gets too dirty, you can grab a sponge and give the animal a wash, adding to the feel of having a live pet right on your Lumia 800

Where the gaming aspect comes in, is in the challenges that you can make your cub perform. You start by teaching it simple tricks, such as jumping up in the air and sitting on command and you can then move on to more advanced challenges, such as jumping a skipping rope and catching a ball.

These challenges are performed to a timer and you swipe and tap your finger on the Lumia 800’s screen to make your cub jump, flip over and move around the screen. The whole process works smoothly, while the gorgeous animation and surprisingly enveloping sound effects really bring the animals to life.

As your cub learns new tricks and completes challenges, you earn points, which can be used to unlock new locations, items, tricks and events. As you unlock more of the game’s features, you can explore the island with your cub and unlock new cubs, from Cheetah’s and Leopard’s, to Lion’s and Panther’s.

With its great looking graphics, relaxing soundtrack and cute animals, Kinectimals is a game you'll buy for the kids but secretly play yourself when they’ve gone to bed. And thanks to the Lumia 800’s stunning screen and great speakers, the game works flawlessly, making it a must buy for your Nokia Windows Phone.
