The Nokia Lumia 800 has landed and it has to be one of the most exciting smartphones we've seen this year. The 3.7-inch screen is sharp and bright and the tactile feel is simply great. However, Nokia has thrown an extra treat into the box in the form of a silicon jacket. Check out our Nokia Lumia 800 silicon jacket review to find out more.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a 3.7-inch Windows Phone device with AMOLED ClearBlack and curved display, 1.4GHz processor and 8-megapixel with Carl Zeiss optics. It's also just landed on our doorstep and is an incredibly good looking and well built smartphone.

In this age when you're paying good money for a handset, it's common for most of us to want to protect out investment with a little extra protection, in the form of a carry case or sleeve. Well, the silicon jacket that comes with the Nokia Lumia 800 isn't intended to be the most protective of sleeves but it's a good way of protecting the back from the odd accidental scratch and dint.

The Nokia Lumia 800 silicon jacket fits so snugly that once it's on you won't even notice it's there. Now, the Nokia Lumia 800 has a glass front that runs the full width of the device itself, so what the silicon jacket does is actually give the device the look of having a bezel, which goes against the aesthetic look and feel of the Lumia 800 but for the most part this is a minor niggle and not a problem.

The silicon jacket for the Nokia Lumia 800 is slim and fits like a glove, with holes neatly cut out in all the right places, so you can still use all the buttons and ports. The only difference it truly makes it that it hides the microSIM slot cover on the top of the device, which once you've inserted the SIM into isn't really needed again.

What's more, as it has a rubbery finish, you'll find the smartphone sits in your hand a little firmer, so you can get on with the important part of having fun with the phone!

OK, in the grand scheme of things the Nokia Lumia 800 silicon jacket isn't going to be a deal breaker but it's a nice little addition that means you don't need to go to the extra expense of having one separately.
