Windows Phone 7.5 Photo Auto-Fix featureWith the Nokia Lumia 800 set for official release in the UK on the 16th November, we’ve been taking an in-depth look at the latest and greatest Windows Phone 7.5 features that you can soon enjoy on the new Nokia handset. Today we’ve trying out the excellent Photo Auto-Fix tools.

While Windows Phone 7.5’s great camera app makes it quick and easy to snap the highest-quality photos on the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone, the great photography features don’t end there. With full Photo Auto-Fix functionality built directly into the interface, you can tweak your images right in the phone and then upload them straight to the internet, to share them with your friends and family without ever needing to connect to a laptop or PC.

The Windows Phone 7.5 Photo Auto-Fix feature works by automatically correcting exposure levels and white balance for any photo you choose in your photo library. Helping you to instantly correct dark images and bring dull photos back to life, it provides a fantastic one-click solution. And even if the photo was taken using someone else’s camera or smartphone, you can just transfer the image to your Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone and still use Auto-Fix to correct the photo.

To use Photo Auto-Fix on your Nokia Lumia 800, all you have to do is tap the Pictures tile on the Windows Phone Start screen, choose the photo you want to correct and then tap to open it. With the photo open, you can then either tap the More button at the bottom right of the screen, or you can tap and hold your finger on the image itself. Whichever you choose, a smoothly animated menu will open and you can then scroll down the list and tap on the Auto-Fix option.

A thin, green status bar will then appear at the top of the screen, to show that the image is being corrected, and then after a second or two the corrected image will appear onscreen. You can then either tap the Save button at the top of the screen to save your corrected photo, or you can tap the Undo-Fox button to undo the changes and revert back to your original image.

It should be noted, however, that when you select Save, the newly corrected photo unfortunately always appears to save over the original image, rather than saving a newly corrected copy, so you must always be sure you’re happy with the results before saving.

With your new image corrected and saved, you can then tap the More button again and choose Share, to instantly share the image with your friends and family. Making it incredibly easy to capture and share the highest quality photos on your smartphone, Windows Phone 7.5 and the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone are the perfect choice for all snap-happy photographers.
