The Nokia Lumia 800 is undoubtedly the world’s best Windows Phone and with a range of great prices on offer, it’s easier than ever to take this great handset home this Christmas. And with rivals such as the Apple iPhone 4 still costing far more than the Lumia 800, almost a year after its release, we thought we’d compare prices, to see just how they measure up.
Three
The first prices we checked were at Three. Three is offering the Nokia Lumia 800 for £30 per month on a 24-month contract, with the handset thrown in for free. This deal gets you 500 minutes of calls, unlimited texts and 1000MB of web data per month, costing you a total of £720 over the life of the contract.
In contrast, the original Apple iPhone 4 costs £38 per month with Three, again on a 24-month contract. For this you get the handset free, with 900 minutes of calls, unlimited texts and the same 1000MB of data per month. In total this works out at £912 – a difference of £192 over the brand new Lumia 800.
Orange
Next we stopped by Orange, where we found the Nokia Lumia 800 available for £26 per month on 24-month contract. Again the handset is free and you get 400 minutes of calls, unlimited texts and 250MB of data each month, with the whole deal costing you a total of £624 over the life of the contract.
The Apple iPhone 4, on the other hand, costs £35 per month with Orange, on a 24-month contract. Again the handset is free and you get 600 minutes of calls, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. Over the full course of the 24-month contract this will cost you £840 – a whopping £216 more than the Lumia 800.
T-Mobile
Then we popped over to T-Mobile and found an even better deal for the Nokia Lumia 800. For £25.54 per month you can get the handset free, along with 300 minutes of calls, 300 texts and 500MB of data. And the best part is, you are only tied into an 18-month contract, costing you a total of £459.72.
The Apple iPhone 4 is far more expensive through T-Mobile and costs £35.75 per month on a 24-month contract. This gets you the handset for free, as well as 600 minutes of calls, unlimited texts and the same 500MB of data, costing £858 over the life of the contract – a huge £398.28 more than the Lumia 800.
Vodafone
Finally we paid a visit to Vodafone, where the Nokia Lumia 800 is currently being offered for £26 per month on 24-month contract. This bags you the handset for free, along with 100 minutes of calls, 500 texts and 250MB of data per month, costing a total of £624 over the full term of the contract.
In comparison, 2010’s Apple iPhone 4 costs £31 per month on a 24-month contract with T-Mobile.
