Thanks to its eye-catchingly colourful design and gorgeous Windows Phone interface, the Nokia Lumia 800 is easily one of the best looking smartphones you can currently buy. But the great looks aren’t limited to what you get out of the box, as you can easily customise the interface of your Nokia Windows Phone to suit your exact taste. We can show you how.

The first thing you’ll want to do when you switch on your new Nokia Lumia 800 is to set the Windows Phone 7 theme to a colour that’s right for your taste. With eleven tile colours to choose from, as well as two background colours, you can easily set the Lumia up to suit your own preference.

To customise the theme on your Nokia Lumia 800, just swipe to the right on the Windows Phone Start screen – the default homepage your phone displays – or just tap the right-facing arrow at the top right of the screen. Then, on the apps list that appears, just scroll down with your finger and tap on Settings.

The default System Settings page will now appear and you can tap on the option labelled ‘Theme’. From there you can then tap on either Background or Accent Colour and choose from the long list of available colours, to customise the style of the Windows Phone 7 interface to a look that’s to your liking.

When you change the Background Colour, you’ll instantly see the change happen onscreen. But to see any changes you make to the Accent Colour, you’ll need to tap the Windows button at the bottom centre of your Lumia 800 handset, to return to the Windows Phone Start screen and see the new tile colours.

If you’re unhappy with the new colour, you can then tap and hold the Back button at the bottom left of your handset, to open the Windows Phone Intelligent Multitasking tool. From there you can just swipe left or right to find and tap on your Theme settings, where you can re-change the colour scheme.
