The Incredible Circus review on Nokia 700

The Incredible Circus is our latest favourite game on the Nokia N8 but it’s also capable of running on Symbian Belle, so we thought we’d check out how well it handles on the 3.2-inch screen of the Nokia 700. Find out all the fun of the fair with our The Incredible Circus game review on Nokia 700.

The Incredible Circus is one of those games, like Doodle Jump or Dalton: The Awesome, that is deceptively addictive. The game itself has a simple aim, you have to fire your circus performer from a standing position up into the big top to land on a platform above. If that sounds a little like Angry Birds then you’ll see the aim of the developers is to tap into that fascination with all things flying.

However, while Angry Birds is simply about aim and fire, The Incredible Circus is more complicated as you need to work your way through tricks, traps and multiple levels, while still pitching your flying ace through the air. In the initial stages you just get to use elasticated wires to fire him into the air, and trampolines to bounce off. As the game develops, you’ll find an array of cannons and firing apparatus helping (as well as hindering) your flights of fancy.

The initial levels are quite easy and allow you to get to grips with The Incredible Circus on your Nokia 700 with ease. When you’ve completed a challenge you can move on to the next one, with each one getting progressively harder and more challenging, hence the addictive but frustrating feel you get with these kinds of games.

The Incredible Circus is a free download from the Nokia Store that weighs in at a little over 6MB, so it’s a quick and painless install. The music is a little over the top, but suits the game nicely, but it is the graphics that are the most impressive, with a bold and cartoony style.

Just as with Angry Birds, you can plot your trajectory and plan of attack before you set off. We found this a little easier to do on the Nokia N8 than we did with the smaller panel of the Nokia 700 but it still works well. However, with The Incredible Circus you’ll need to watch out for pitfalls along the way, such as knife throwing cowboys, fire breathing warriors and even tigers casually waiting to eat you.

If there is one problem with The Incredible Circus, it’s that it doesn’t use the accelerometer on your Nokia 700. So, you can’t steer your character around and you’re forced to simply watch as he bounces of objects and off target!

The Incredible Circus has become a firm favourite of ours and we reckon that once you start to play it on your Nokia 700 you’ll agree. What are you waiting for, run away and join the circus today!
