Nokia has announced that the Nokia N8 will soon be receiving a free update to the Symbian Belle OS. With the update set for the start of the New Year and updates for the Nokia C7 and E6 on the way as well, the Nokia N8 will soon join the Nokia 700 as one of the best Symbian Belle smartphones you can buy.

I already updated my N8 with the Symbian Belle, and in one word: it’s fantastic!I hafe Nokia N9 and Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia N8, and now I can confirm N8 + Belle is the best of these 3 phones, if nokia improve the internet browser in next version (now I’m using Opera Mobile) and add swipe (like N9) to Symbian Carla it will be by far the best OS in the world.Now I’m really in love with Symbian Belle and already looking forward to Symbian Carla :-p

It’s fantastic that the N8 will soon be fully updated to Belle. It can’t come soon enough. I wish that Nokia had stuck to their quarter 4 forecast but I would rather receive it later and bug free.

I have been seeing that Nokia is saying that it would bring Belle for Nokia N8, however, they don’t keep their promise and each time they give a new date of the release of Symbian Belle. When the Symbian Anna rolled out in August, Nokia said that it would roll out Belle in next few months but they didn’t do it. Again, Nokia said that it would be coming with the Belle for N8 on 26th October, 2011, but again, they failed to keep the promise. This time, I don’t want things to be repeated and want to hear some good news from Nokia.

@supergaurav7 – No, you don’t need a 1GHz processor to Symbian Belle. We’ve had a word with Nokia and they’ve told us all Symbian Anna smartphones will be getting the update in the New Year.

We’ll post a story to quantify this, so thanks for the post!

As with all Nokia software rollouts it will be a staggered release, all dependent on the serial number of your smartphone. At least, that’s what we’re expecting!

You all make me believe again – the software update to my N8 made it so slow I wanted to throw it through the window and dropping the online calendar which I had just filled made me think Nokia is falling apart. I worry that I have tied myself to another Nokia failure for the next two years.

Is it true? Is the software going to improve? Or is this another Nokia promise? Will I once again feel stupid when seen with a Nokia among all the iphones and HTC hits?

I am planning so buy Nokia N8. Based on the research that I’ve done, it has the best camera ever. While I was researching I found out that there is an application called CAMERA PRO that can be downloaded in order for the camera feature will have more feature as well as to improve its performance. Now, I am wondering if what OS will work best for CAMERA PRO. would that be the ORIGINAL N8 OS, ANNA OR BELLE? Kindly help me decide if should I Upgrade the OS or not when I buy the phone.
