The Nokia 700 is a stunning smartphone that is not only the world's slimmest model in its class, it's also the first Symbian Belle device on the market. So, while the Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia E6 users need to wait, you can be experiencing speed and usability right now. Find out more with our Nokia 700 in review roundup.
The Nokia 700 is a mid-range smartphone that will appeal to anyone looking for an everyday device. We think it also makes a great upgrade for anyone currently rocking a Nokia 5800 or Nokia X6 and looking for the latest features while keeping roughly the same form factor – ie, screen size.
Announced earlier in the year, it wasn't until the start of October that we finally got our hands on this slim and easy to use smartphone. Measuring a compact 110 x 50 x 9.7mm, the 700 has a highly compact and tactile feel to it. Finished with brushed metal on the backplate and coated with polished glass on the front, the 700 looks and feels fantastic.
You can check out our Nokia 700 unboxing to get a great flavour of what comes in the box but essentially you'll find everything you need to get you up and running. The only thing we found with our review model was that a new version of the Nokia Store needed to be downloaded and installed. This was just a matter of minutes and the smartphone was in full working order!

The build selling point, aside from how slim it is, has to be the use of Symbian Belle operating system, which won't be appearing on Nokia Anna devices, such as the Nokia N8 or Nokia E7 until the New Year. Our Nokia 700 review found the hardware to be a delight to use, the battery life is good and the fact it's so slim means you can nip it into the tightest pair of skinny jeans with no hassle.
We've found that the colourful icon-based interface is a pleasure to operate and the new notifications toolbar works like a charm, keeping you up to date on all you need to know without intruding on what you’re currently doing.
With five home screens on offer you can easily set the Nokia 700 up exactly how you like, and the new live multitasking feature means you can have all your favourite apps running in the background without having to stop and start each time you open a new one. Add the easy-to-create widgets and Symbian Belle on the Nokia 700 could be the best smartphone OS we’ve seen.
The Nokia 700 is a great looking handset but one of the questions we were asked the most was how it looked and compared with the Nokia Lumia 800, so it was only a matter of time before we compared the two.
We have to say, we've been really happy with the Nokia 700. It's a slim and slight device but it has ana mazing feel to it. What's more, the speed it clocks up when switching between homescreens and apps makes it a pleasure to use. There are also a host of Nokia 700 accessories you can tap in to.
If you're thinking of upgrading your current Nokia, whether it's a Nokia 5230 or even a Nokia X6 and like the idea of a 3.2-inch speed machine, the Nokia 700 is the way to go!
