The Nokia E6 was announced back in April, along with the Nokia X7, as the first Symbian Anna smartphones to be launched. While we're waiting for the Symbian Belle update to strike this stunning QWERTY smartphone, it's time to put his business device in context as we put the Nokia E6 in review.
The Nokia E6 is a QWERTY smartphone running the latest version of the Symbian^3 operating system, also known as Symbian Anna. The design of this smartphone is very much a development of the Nokia E71 and Nokia E72 but Nokia has made sufficient changes to make this the ideal device to upgrade to.
We finally managed to get our hands on the Nokia E6 in July and as you'll find with our Nokia E6 Unboxing, everything you need comes in the box, so all you need to do is charge, slap in the SIM card and you're away.
The Nokia E6 has to be the best looking and cutting-edge QWERTY business device out there. The build quality is tough but stylish and the user-interface is smooth. If you’ve been looking for the perfect excuse to upgrade your Nokia E71 then you’ve just found it. When it comes to the actual hardware, you'll find that Nokia has managed to cram in a 2.46-inch touchscreen, as well as full QWERTY keyboard, so you can access apps or enter text in any way you see fit.
In our Nokia E6 review, we found it to be a cracking device that clearly takes the idea of a QWERTY smartphone to a new level.

Perhaps one of the most interesting, and innovative events to happen around the Nokia E6 this year when Nokia teamed up with novelist Terry Deary who had written 'The Perfect Poison Pills Plot', a keitai-style micro novel composed entirely on a QWERTY Nokia E6.
That alone would be commendable enough but when you have it read out by rap star Chipmunk, you suddenly have something special.
The next big step for the Nokia E6 will be the arrival of the Symbian Belle update in the New Year. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long for it to arrive. However, if you're keen to find out what it will entail, then check out our guide to what we think we can expect from the Nokia E6 running Symbian Belle. http://www.noknok.tv/2011/09/20/nokia-e6-and-symbian-belle-what-we-can-expect/
Top 3 apps every Nokia E6 should have:
Opera Mobile web browser
The new Nokia Web Browser 7.3 that comes with Symbian Anna is a big improvement over its predecessor, but if you're specifically looking for a browser that optimises your data usage and speeds up general browsing, Opera Mobile is it.
Wikipedia Reader
It's obviously no patch on the full web version of Wikipedia, but Wikipedia Reader gives you a more streamlined and simplified route to finding all the information you need in a completely free and open-source package. It features bookmarks, history, collapsible sections and beta support for reading in all languages.
Locago
An all-in-one portal to all the information you need on a new place you're visiting for the first time. Check up on the local weather conditions and browse maps overlaid with a huge array of useful and informative layers. A great app for regular business travellers.
If you've not already discovered the elegance that is the Nokia E6 and are in need of a QWERTY smartphone that offers more than the average device, then we recommend you check it out. Already own one? Let us, and others, know what you think about it in the Comments below.
