CES International 2012 logoIt’s that time of year again where technology journalists the world over are heading for Las Vegas for the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). With some exciting announcements rumoured to be on the way from Nokia, we’ve been taking a look at just what we can expect over the next few days.

CES is one of the highlights of the year for the consumer electronics industry and gives a great insight into the products and innovations we can expect to see over the coming year. This year we’re fully expecting some big announcements from Nokia and they will be bringing out some major players to share the news.

First up will be Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop. He’s hitting the stage at 3pm PT in Las Vegas, which means the action will be taking place at 11pm GMT here in the UK. We’ve got a hunch we know just what he’ll be unveiling, but we’ll just have to wait until tonight to find out for sure what will be announced by Nokia.

This will then be followed by a keynote speech at 6.30pm PT (2.30am GMT) by Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, to mark the last time that Microsoft will take part in CES. We’re less sure of what to expect from Ballmer’s swansong speech, but we’re hoping there’ll be some Windows Phone announcements.

Whatever is revealed in Vegas, you can be sure that we’ll have all the news for you as it happens. With so many great announcements at Nokia World 2011 in London last year, we’re confident we can expect just as many exciting revelations at CES 2012, so stay tuned to NokNok.tv and watch this space.

What do you hope Nokia and Microsoft will announce at CES 2012? Why not let us know your thoughts in the Comments below?

Hopefully, Nokia will announce a smartphone that eliminates the need for carriers.

I hope they annouce a new QWERTY phone!
Something that will give the Bold 9900 a run for it’s money in terms of hardware. The E6 is nice and all but 256MB of RAM is just not cutting it…
