The Nokia 700 is one of the newest Nokia smartphones on the block. It’s a neat, slim handset packed with some of the latest features you’ll find anywhere, and one of the first to benefit from the new Nokia Belle operating system, available for free when updating your phone’s software.
Downloading apps from the Nokia Store is the best way to add even more features to your Nokia 700. Read on and we’ll show you how to use the Nokia Store to do just that. Before you begin using the Nokia Store, you will need to register for a Nokia account. A working email address and a password is all that is required.
Accessing the Nokia Store
Visiting the Nokia Store is easy. You can do so direct from the homescreen by tapping on the blue Store icon - the one with a white shopping bag in the middle.
The first sight you see will be the featured section displaying the apps that are being featured by Nokia that week, but scroll to the bottom and you will see that you can peruse different categories.
Navigating the Nokia Store
Making your way around the Nokia Store is easy and self-explanatory using the steps above to swipe up and down pages to view categories.
You can also navigate using with the aid of the on-screen touch buttons at the bottom of the screen. A home icon, depicted by a house always takes you to the very first Nokia Store page, back where you started.
Next to the home icon on the right is a menu button. Tap this to be taken to the full list of categories for apps, games audio & video and personalisation. Go on, give it a try. It’s an easy way to see categories at a glance. If you know the name of the app you are searching for tap on the magnifying glass, and then the search bar to manually look for new apps, themes and games.
Get downloading
Now that we know the basics, we can download an app. For the sake of our tutorial, lets begin at the Nokia Store homepage. Press the home icon at the bottom of the screen. It should look like a house to be taken there.
Now browse the Nokia Store until you find an app that tickles your fancy, and tap to select it. You will now be taken to a page with information, photos and user reviews of the app.
You will also see a blue bar with the word ‘download’ plastered across it. Tap on this to begin the download. A progress bar shows you how long the app will take to install. Once installed, the app will appear in the menu screen along with the rest of the Nokia 700’s applications. It’s that simple.
