Not content with its little brother the Nokia Lumia 710 having all the attention right now, the Nokia Lumia 800 has just sprouted an extra model in the UK - this time in shocking pink, aka magenta. Read on to find out more.
When the Nokia Lumia 800 launched in the UK back in November 2011, it did so in two classy colours - deep black and vibrant cyan (that's bright blue, in case you didn't know). To be honest, we were so enraptured by the style and slickness of the phone itself, we hardly noticed there was a colour missing from the line-up.
After all, with a 1.4GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, and 8-megapixel camera and that inky-black AMOLED display, we had plenty of more exciting things to focus on. Now that the hysteria has died down and we're living with the Nokia Lumia 800 every day, though, our thoughts have begun to stray to that bright pink version shown in the press material. Where did it go?
Right here! Nokia UK has dropped us a line to point out that the Nokia Lumia 800 in magenta is now available on our green isles. Check out this new video, which cunningly slips the colourful new addition into the roster.
Why magenta? In a recent interview piece with Nokia Conversations, Nokia colours and materials designer Tiina Aarras revealed that it was chosen as "a provocative colour". The human eye is super-sensitive to various shades of magenta, making it a particularly eye-catching choice.
