Nokia N8 fan photography: The best from the web

As many of you will know, the Nokia N8 can record HD video that stands up with many dedicated camcorders. Considering that the Nokia N8 is something that you can fit in your pocket, that’s mightily impressive. To see for yourself just how impressive, check out our select handful of videos below.Which is your favourite?

The Commuter, starring Dev Patel

The Commuter was one of the earliest examples of Nokia N8 video brilliance. The film starring Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel was shot entirely using a Nokia N8 in HD. The fact it was shot in just four days, with no back up cameras makes the above accomplishment all the more impressive.

“Stalker” First Official Nokia N8 Music Video for Denver Duncan

This was the first official music video shot using a Nokia N8, with the help of other equipment, proving that it’s what you do with it that counts. We like the colours and the editing to produce a video that you would otherwise think was shot on a high-end video camera.

Nokia N8 Short “The Rider”

The Rider is a short western movie that shows that with the N8 and a little bit of directorial nous, it is possible to create atmospheric films using a smartphone. It's a nice little movie worth watching for that alone. The ending is also a little unexpected, but effective.

Dot. The world’s smallest stop-motion animation character shot on a Nokia N8

Dot is nothing short of outstanding. That the N8 is able to catch the pinhead sized characters in this stop-motion video is an achievement in itself. Just look at the detail on the bee. Dot is a fine example of what can be done with the N8 camera. The closing shot revealing the N8 set up is an amazing moment.

Gulp. The world’s largest stop-motion animation set

From the world’s smallest stop motion, to the largest. Gulp is a short story of a fisherman making a catch before being forced to make an underwater detour. We love the clever use of the tide to give the illusion of waves in an ocean. The final overhead shot reveals how the record-breaking effort was filmed.
