In recent weeks we've seen how the Nokia Lumia 710 looks next to its brother, the Nokia Lumia 800, as well as other Windows Phone devices. Now we're going to extend our comparison to Nokia other recent efforts - starting with the striking Nokia X7. How do these two stylish smartphones match up?

The main difference between these two phones is, of course, the software. We recently updated our Nokia X7 to the Belle OS, and it almost feels like a brand new handset as a result. If you think Belle's impressive, wait until you've tried Windows Phone on the Nokia Lumia 710. This has to be the best-looking mobile OS around, and it's a doddle to use as well.

In hardware terms both phones have their relative strengths. While they're similarly sized, the Nokia Lumia 710 is made of lighter plastic materials, while the Nokia X7 has a premium metal finish. Under these shells, the Nokia Lumia 710 packs a much faster 1.4GHz processor, which is more than double the speed of the Nokia X7's.

The Nokia X7, however, benefits from an 8-megapixel camera - handy if you like to print your pictures out at a particularly large size.
