Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710 and 610 update: Nokia City Lens and Bluetooth File Transfer

The Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 may be grabbing all the attention right now but lets not forget the amazing Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710 and Nokia Lumia 610 that many if us already own. Well, it looks like Nokia has a feast of updates in store for us too!

Nokia has always done a great job of supporting platforms, with the Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710 and Nokia Lumia 610 adding such great features as Camera Extras, Internet Sharing slip-to-silence in recent updates. That’s not forgetting the updates to staple features such as Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Music.

Now, it seems we’re about to get a slew of new updates that will enhance usability even more. For instance, Nokia City Lens, which will be an inbuilt part of the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 will also be made available for Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710 and Nokia Lumia 610 users.

Nokia has also announced the updates with be coming: 

- Updated contacts transfer app

- Bluetooth file transfer to transfer media files via Bluetooth from your Lumia device to any other phone

- Nokia Counters, to keep an eye on your phone usage

- Ringtone maker (selected countries) to set your favorite song as your ringtone to selected markets

Let’s not forget that along with these updates we can also expect the new Windows Phone 7.8 Start screen that allows for a wider use of the screen, varied tile sizes and colours and a smoother user experience.

The updates to Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710 and Nokia Lumia 610 smartphones will be staggered and are set to begin later this year and we’ll bring you more information as and when we know it.
