Nokia Lumia 920 exclusive to EE and Phones 4u here in UK

The Nokia Lumia 920 will launch here in the UK exclusive to EE and Phones 4u, offering you the chance to get your hands on this 4.5-inch smartphone running Windows Phone 8 on the 4G mobile internet network from launch.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagship smartphone of the Nokia Windows Phone 8 range and is based on a 4.5-inch LCD IPS touchscreen with Nokia PureMotion HD+ and Nokia ClearBlack technology. Powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, you’ll find the Nokia Lumia 920 is fast and power efficient. Backed by 1GB of RAM, Windows Phone 8 loads and runs quick and smooth. With 32GB of mass storage, microSD support and even 7GB of free SkyDrive online storage, the Nokia Lumia 920 offers everything the busy mobile user needs!

Nokia has announced that the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia 820 have started to ship from the factory where they were being built and are on their way to the UK. What’s more, along with the Nokia Lumia 920 being exclusive to EE and Phones 4u here in the UK, EE will also carry the Nokia Lumia 820 LTE, so you can choose between which handset you want to run on the fastest network around.

Phones 4u will exclusively stock the full colour range for both the Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920, with red, black, white and yellow versions available.

Commenting on the launch, Conor Pierce, VP for Nokia stated “We see the Lumia 920 as one of the most exciting phones we have launched at Nokia. It includes some truly groundbreaking innovations: Wireless charging, a screen that automatically adjusts its colour and brightness, depending on sunlight, a touchscreen that even works when you’re wearing gloves and best of all it’s a beautiful device; the Lumia 920 looks just awesome.”

Pricing has yet to be announced but with both the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 on their way it can only be a matter of time until Nokia announces final pricing here in the UK.

Bad Mistake Nokia – even SIM free phones in UK will allegedly be locked to EE/Orange
Not only exclusivity issues but to the worst, most money grabbing phone network in the world

  • Patrick

WTF are Nokia doing, has there been any explanation on the exclusivity? I’ve been waiting for the Nokia 920 to come out for months. I’m going to order the HTC 8X now instead, shame.. I was ready to try a Nokia phone, maybe in 2 years time ( if Nokia still exist )

All this hype and build-up, to then offer the 920 exclusively with EE for 40 plus pounds is not only really frustrating, but damn right insulting to the people who don’t have 400 plus to spend on a phone right now. Your 900 wasn’t exactly ground breaking so what have you done to justify these kinds of prices.

I’m currently an O2 user and I have ordered a Lumia 920 from EE. 2 major network failures and poor 3G signals have forced me to move after almost 10 years with the network. The monthly price is a little steep but I’d rather spread out the cost than buying sim free at this moment in time

you can buy it sim free from phones for u

  • Benn

Just shocking. I have been reading the build up to the 920 launch for nearly 2 months now and just about very tech blog and forum suggested no one would take leave their current network or pay EE rates once released. Someone in Nokia is on the HTC/Samsung payroll, giving exclusivity to a new brand with no track record and the most expensive rates in the UK and limited coverage. If this was my business I would expect to sack my MD. Goodbye Nokia, I am a huge fan and have cash in had for the 920, but given limited exposure I wont even buy sim only through fear of support for a low volume device. The 820 will do well on all oter carrier but for me TC/Samsung have my attention with a MUCH better strategy for launch….Nokia you are REALLY stupid.

  • Peter

I rang EE and Phone 4u and they only stock the Nokia Lumia 920 in Black and White. No information about any other colours.

  • Dani

big mistake. I want the phone but not on EE. Nokia you lost a customer. Good luck with your amazing strategy.

  • Not do me

Well I was waiting for the 920. After just finding out it will be only available from two UK suppliers Nokia can go and take a long walk off a short pier to financial ruin! What company limits it’s market exposure when you’re failing and this is your last best pitch. Goodbye Nokia!

Sp excited about this phone yet one problem. EE! The monthly pricing is really expensive in my opinion

  • why exclusive?

So if we bought it from Phones4U, would our contract be on any network or just EE?

  • Jssssch

Does the Lumia 920 have microSD support?
I thought it was only the 820?
