Audible audiobooks version 1.4 for Windows Phone 8 adds audio controls
Audible has been updated to version 1.4 for Windows Phone 8. Along with fixing a few background issues, so the app is more stable and reliable, this latest versions also brings with it audio commands, making it perfect for use with the audio settings on the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820.
Audible is one of those apps that once you have it on your Nokia Lumia you want to use it more and more. Now you can get even more from it courtesy of the Audible version 1.4 update, which brings with it a more reliable service as well as new audio commands.
What’s more, with Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 both coming with Dolby Headphone technology built in, as well as a dedicated Speech setting in the new Equalizer, you’ll find these two smartphones offer the best audio experience for listening to audiobooks for any length of time.
Once you’ve launched the app all you need do is hold the Start button down and speak clearly, starting each instruction with the word ‘Audible’. There are currently three commands that can be used with Audible: Play, Pause and Play (insert name).
In order to switch books you need to announce the full title of the audiobook, which can be a little unwieldy but it’s early days for voice commands within the app so hopefully later versions will bring a wider array of controls.
