The Nok is our great new podcast that brings together the latest news and views from Nokia, as well as a host of tips and tricks on how to get more from your Nokia Lumia, whether it’s the high-end Nokia Lumia 920, or the brand new entry-level Nokia Lumia 620. Here the guys share a great tip on how to use photos to personalise your Nokia Lumia Start screen.
Once you’ve taken photos on your Nokia Lumia you can get to them by taping the Pictures icon on the Start screen but have you ever thought how the images get on there? They are pulled from your various photo albums and you can choose which photos it can show with this simple tip:
All you need to do is tag the photos you want to see on the start screen as ‘favourites’ and then Windows Phone will do the rest. You do this by tapping on the photo you want to tag and from the drop down menu simply select Add to Favourites.
That’s all you need to do!
This is the Nokia Knowledge Nugget brought to you by The Nok, our new monthly podcast. If you’ve not caught up with the show yet then now is the perfect chance to check it out. We’ve got a roundup of CES 2013, which seems like a lifetime ago now, as well as an interview with Conor Pierce, Vice President, West Europe at Nokia, the man charged with making Nokia Lumia a success here in the UK and Ireland.
In this exclusive interview he talks about the challenges for Nokia and the Lumia brand in 2013. He discusses hardware – ‘This is our heritage. People understand that we just do ‘great stuff’, so we’ll continue building greta quality, great designs. What’s important to me is that when you walk into a store what’s the experience you get?’
He also touches on what makes Nokia Lumia an essential device, from Nokia Music: ‘Free music with no ads, no subscription, it’s always available so you can download and listen when offline. People always love that when you show it to them.’ to Nokia Maps in 2013, ‘it’s only going to get better with City Lens. It works when you turn it on. And of naturally being Nokia, we have imaging. The PureView technology, so really, we’re opening the eyes of millions of people.’
