KooZac hands-on for Xbox Live Windows Phone 8
KooZac is the Windows Phone 8 game of the week, making it ideal for the Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 820 and Lumia 620. Here we take a look at what you need to know about this addicitive puzzle game.
Starting life as an online game KooZac later surfaced on Android and iPhone but it’s now made its debut on Windows Phone 8, bringing with it a super-intense gaming style that’s reminiscent of Tetris at its best but with a game play all its own.

The aim of the game is to destroy a series of grey blocks that appear at the start of each level. Each box has a number on it and you destroy them by dropping numbered boxes that match the target sum. It’s a bit of a mind melt at first but you soon start to get the hang of it, making for an addictive and compulsive gameplay.
With KooZac you get to boost your scores with multipliers, slow downs, side by side, match them all and super hints. Tap and swipe as fast as you can to earn speed bonuses, match colours, numbers for more bonuses. What’s more, you can use multiple blocks to gain even more points, so there are plenty of ways to rack up a high-score for yourself.
KooZac comes with three pretty neat and different challenge modes:
PUZZLE – you can play through 60 levels of the game, the aim being to destroy the silver puzzle blocks and clear the board by completing the set targets and challenge.
ENDLESS – with no level and no power-up stages, this is a serious version of the game for those who want to get a name for themselves on the KooZac Leaderboard. You compete against the world in Endless mode and use multi gems to rack up huge scores.
BLITZ – Take on your Facebook friends in the 60 seconds KooZac Blitz mode – compete for the top spot in weekly tournaments, use boosts the super charge your score.
KooZac costs £2.29 from the Windows Phone Store and as with almost all games on there, you’l find a free trial version that allows you to check it out before you commit to buy.
