How to Transfer Contacts on your Nokia Lumia 625
Own a Nokia Lumia 625 and looking to get the most from it? The first thing you’ll want to do is transfer the Contacts from your old phone. Windows Phone 8 makes it incredibly easy, so whether you own a BlackBerry, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, or simply a feature phone it’s hassle-free – here we take a look at how to transfer Contacts on your Nokia Lumia 625.
The first thing we all like to do whenever we buy a new phone is to move the Contacts over from our old device onto the new one. If you use an online account to store your Contacts then you can easily move this data to your new Nokia Lumia 625 simply by adding the account to your device by going to Settings>Email+accounts.
However, it’s more than likely that your Contacts are on your phone’s SIM card (or on the phone memory itself). The Windows Phone 8 operating system makes it incredibly easy to transfer contacts.
What’s more, Nokia has made the whole process even more accessible on the Nokia Lumia 625 by adding the the Transfer My Data app pre-installed on the phone. It is a quick and easy way of copying contacts from almost any phone, not just iPhone but also Symbian, Android, and BlackBerry, to your new Nokia Lumia using Bluetooth.
Some phones may also be capable of transferring text messages and pictures, including many Nokia phones. Transfer my Data copies all your contacts into the Windows Phone People Hub, from where it’s easy to call, mail, chat or follow friends on your favourite social network. On supported phones, contacts can also be exported to and imported from an SD card.
You’ll find this app on the second page, simply swipe left to find the list of installed apps. Tap on the app and make sure Bluetooth is switched on on your Nokia Lumia 625.
Once it’s switched on you’ll find any devices in your area that are using Bluetooth and visible. Select your old Nokia phone and accept the pairing. Once linked you’ll find that contacts are sent over automatically. You may find that you’ll be able to transfer messages and pictures in the same way. How easy is that?
